Only By Walking Through Darkness Do We Find Our Inner Light

Life is a Mystical Prayer

A wiseman sat as he did each morning, drinking his rosemary tea, pondering many aspects of his own mystical healing journey. Yet as he did crow flew down greeting the wiseman with his most raucous of wake up and alarm calls. “Thank you crow” the wiseman said for he knew that crow was informing him that someone was approaching. In good time a young man appeared and upon his back he carried a great boulder. With sweat pouring from his forehead and knees and back almost bent double the young man approached the wiseman and said through gritted teeth I’ve been told to seek you out wiseman for you are my salvation. The wiseman laughed out loud and said; “me your salvation, no, you are mistaken”. At which point the young man crumbled to his knees before the wiseman and cried out in anguish; “no, noooooo, I simply can’t carry this boulder anymore, he told me that you would help me and that you’d be my salvation”. The wiseman looked with pity upon the young man and asked; “who told you this?” The young man looked up and said; “the old man bent double in the market place, he told me to seek you out for you are my salvation”. Upon hearing this the wiseman summoned crow to his right arm and white dove to his left. He then smiled and stood up and walked perhaps 50 yards away from the young man into the shade before sitting down again. Many hours may have passed in that moment and not a word between the two was spoken as the wiseman simply sat with crow and dove, observing intensely, that which was unfolding. Whilst the young man before him cried like never before. And in that vacuum of great knowing the wiseman was gently reminded as he sipped upon his rosemary tea of his own great healing journeys. As such he knew that only when the student was ready, could the teaching begin. For it is so and must be understood that the timing of timelessness is the quality of mysticism, whereas all magic is in the quantity. So it was, so it is and so it will always; be. Around the stroke of noon as the hot sun burnt down, the young man staggered to his feet and slowly made his way towards the wiseman. As he approached the wiseman again through gritted teeth he said; “he told me you were a wiseman and that you would help me but you’re just a silly old fool who drinks to much tea and lives with screeching crows”. The wiseman held his sides with laughter and said; “me a fool?, I wonder now I just wonder. I sit in the shade and take on heavens fluids whilst you lay in the burning sun crying like a baby and all because I’ve chosen to embrace peace and you insist upon carrying that boulder upon your back. Ponder this young prince, who is the fool?” The young man huffed and puffed with almost stratospheric levels of rage and anguish before he crumpled to his knees before the wiseman and sighed; “please help me wiseman I’m at my wits end”. Again the wiseman laughed out loud and said; “I am helping you little prince it’s just that your heart and eyes haven’t opened yet, here drink some of my rosemary tea”. Handing the young man his own cup. As the young man took his first mouth full he immediately spat it back out and said; “that’s disgusting it tastes like a cesspit”. Again the wiseman laughed out loud and said; “no little prince you have just taken your first drink of nectar, but alas your current vibration and state of knowing is not able to receive such manna”. The young man with a great look of consternation said; “I don’t understand” to which the wiseman quickly replied; “o but you will in good time, here give me your hand and let us walk”. Very soon the wiseman had brought them to a cliff top which over looked the young mans town and upon seating asked the young man to; “look down upon your people and tell me what you see”. Many hours passed by and the young man looked and looked and looked and looked some more and as night was falling the wiseman asked; “so tell me young prince what do you see?”. The young man replied with great sadness and a deeply heavy heart “I see struggle and I see pain and I see lots of suffering”. The wiseman smiled and said; “good, a most generous and noble observation but how does that make you feel?” The young man replied; “sad, very sad and would that I could take it all away, I would for the pain is most insufferable”. The wiseman laughed out loud which startled the young man as he said; “well you’ve done your very best so far and a great job too young prince, for it is there all the sadness, all the pain and all the sufferings of others heavy upon your back”. Yet before the young man could retort the wiseman said; “come if you will it is time to rest, for you have much work to do in the coming years, but only you’ll know if you’re truly up for that most gracious of journeys”. The wiseman then lead the young man into a cave lit only by fireflies, yet it was warm and moist in a most unusual sort of way and the earth beneath his feet was sweet and inviting. Whilst the walls of the cave some how seemed to swirl to the rhythm of the breath of life, indeed that of the past, that of the now and that which could come to be. Once inside the wiseman said; “be well young prince, rest if you will, but also be very mindful to accept and allow too, for you have many journeys before you”. The young man nodded his head in agreement albeit he wasn’t really sure what the wiseman was talking about. The darkness of night approached quickly after that and once the wiseman had retreated the young man settled down to rest his weary bones. Soon very soon the young man fell into a very deep sleep and as he did, the monsters and demons that lived deep within his being came out and tried their level best to torment him. Still the young man slept and as he did he was shown many occasions where others with their problems had sort him out and that all to soon it became clear that he had acquired their problem and that they were set free, yet he was heavily burdened. He was shown how year upon year that which had once been a grain of sand upon his back had turned into a pebble, then a stone, then a rock, then a boulder until it was that he was buried under a great mountain. During this sleep the wiseman came unto the young man and asked him if this was a noble way to evolve his soul? The young mans inner voice spoke and replied; “it is not, so what must I do?” To which the wiseman replied; “lay down your burdens and all the fatuous burdens of others, for as you do, you will come to know just how bright the light is that emanates deep within and from your soul”. “How do I do that asked the young mans inner voice?”. The wiseman replied; “you must stay in this cave and come to know all your inner demons, all your inner fears, angers, hates and despairs for you chose to carry heavy karmic burdens, much of which wasn’t yours, so now you must let go of all that, painful grain by painful grain”. “How will I know when it is time for me to leave the cave wiseman asked the inner voice of the young man” and the wiseman smiled and said; “only by walking through darkness will you find the answer to that, so trust in your inner light”. Morning broke and the young man found that he was alone save for crow, dove and bee who had brought him some honey. Year upon year the young man wrestled with many things as he walked through the darkness all alone. Until it came to pass that he was called outside by the raucous calls of crow. Whereupon and before him stood the wiseman and smiling the wiseman said; “good to see that you’ve lightened your load my prince and that you are now of strong heart too”. The young man laughed and reaching behind himself to feel his back said; “you are indeed right wiseman, come lets sit and share some rosemary tea”. Sit they did when once more crow announced that some one was approaching and as he did a man from the town below ran up to the young man and said; “come, come, you must come your mother needs your help, your father needs your help as does your brother, your sister, your cousins and friends too, they all need your help for they all have many troubles and they have come to know you as the solver of problems”. Silence befell the scene and space as the young man pondered this request. Then the young man holding his tea cup between both hands smiled and said; “tell them I send them all my love and that is the greatest gift I have to offer”. The man said; “but how will that help them with their troubles?”. The young man smiled again and said; “their karma is their karma and as such all I can do is send them my love, for in truth I’m not here to carry anyone else’s karma, for to do so, would be a most foolish thing to do”. The man in a fit of rage said; “you’re insane that cave has made you insane, it has made you cruel and heartless too” again the young man smiled and said; “be as you wish, speak as you speak, but know that I’ve given you a most powerful and gracious gift, so please deliver my message and with great haste too” gently shooing the towns man away. Whilst all the while and during the course of that paradoxically terse and genteel exchange between the man from the town and the young man. The wiseman sat impassive albeit with a hidden smile upon his face until the young man turned to the wiseman and asked; “whats so amusing and another thing just who was that bent over old man in the market place who sort me out and who sent me up here to seek you out, to ask you to help me in the first place? For I’d never seen him before and he wasn’t from my town”. The wiseman laughed out loud and said; “what’s so amusing? what’s so amusing? life and its frequent absurdities my prince, they are ever so amusing, wouldn’t you agree?”. Whilst all the while roaring with laughter. The young man scratched his head and said; “well if you say so” and burst into raucous rib shattering laughter too and through his heart cleansing tears of laughter, he again asked; “but who was the bent over old man who told me to seek you out?” More earth shattering laughter from the wiseman as he replied; “my young prince don’t you see, it was you, you sent you to me, for you are me and I am you and he was we, for we are one”. And in that magical moment of transformative cosmic revelation the wiseman simply disappeared into the ether and the young man with great humility took on the form and all the attributes of the wiseman and all was light. For the illumination and illuminated soul is always in the soul inclination, that is the sacred journey of soul.

”Seek the light, trust the light, be the light and ask the light to always be with you” ~ Soul Mysteries

“Be generous in prosperity, and thankful in adversity. Be worthy of the trust of thy neighbor, and look upon him with a bright and friendly face. Be a treasure to the poor, an admonisher to the rich, an answerer of the cry of the needy, a preserver of the sanctity of thy pledge. Be fair in thy judgment, and guarded in thy speech. Be unjust to no man, and show all meekness to all men. Be as a lamp unto them that walk in darkness, a joy to the sorrowful, a sea for the thirsty, a haven for the distressed, an upholder and defender of the victim of oppression. Let integrity and uprightness distinguish all thine acts. Be a home for the stranger, a balm to the suffering, a tower of strength for the fugitive. Be eyes to the blind, and a guiding light unto the feet of the erring. Be an ornament to the countenance of truth, a crown to the brow of fidelity, a pillar of the temple of righteousness, a breath of life to the body of mankind, an ensign of the hosts of justice, a luminary above the horizon of virtue, a dew to the soil of the human heart, an ark on the ocean of knowledge, a sun in the heaven of bounty, a gem on the diadem of wisdom, a shining light in the firmament of thy generation, a fruit upon the tree of humility.” ~ Baha’u’llah. That is the true and sacred journey of soul, where love is always, for love is the eternal call of soul.
