As Above So Below

Deepawali or Diwali is the festival of lights: deep means “light” and avali “a row,” or “a row of lights” and is celebrated by Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and Newar Buddhists to mark the victory of light over darkness. Further to this the Diwali festival marks the victory of knowledge over ignorance, victory of good over evil, victory of hope over despair and it is the biggest and the brightest of all Hindu festivals. In essence this deeply uplifting spiritual festival is the ritual worship of light and divinity where the devotees express their allegiance as human beings to the laws of light and the gods of light. In Latin this is expressed as lux ex tenebris or light from darkness. Which in truth is the way of the self healer. For as the great Rumi eloquently wrote, “sorrow prepares you for joy. It violently sweeps everything out of your house, so that new joy can find space to enter. It shakes the yellow leaves from the bough of your heart, so that fresh, green leaves can grow in their place. It pulls up the rotten roots, so that new roots hidden beneath have room to grow. Whatever sorrow shakes from your heart, far better things will take their place.” For ones journey into greater understandings is the sum of all things. Indeed a timeless, demanding and arduous journey that only a truly awakening soul would dare to commit too. Because the hermetic journey of transcendental self alchemy i.e. 1. Dissolution, 2. Fermentation, 3. Putrification, 4. Coagulation, 5. Consolidation, 6. Petrification and 7. Separation. Is inana rakhma which is the great inner call of timelessness illumination that brings with it the death of the old and birth of the new. Indeed it is the inner journey of self alchemy that transmutes the lead of the ego which is desire and suffering into the spiritual gold of the consciousness. Therein and as John of the Cross graphically qualifies in his books the dark night of the soul. We must go into our darkness to find our inner light. In essence deepawali of the soul. Indeed a process through which we truly come to know the divinity of our evolving journey as a soul. That said and point of note. Take with a pinch of salt anyone talking about their dark night of the soul lasting a few weeks or a few months and how they’ve become a guru on the subject. They have not been through the dark night, they have not. Perhaps at best they’ve undergone a little inner reorganisation. But they have not been through a dark night. For all true dark nights are multifaceted and unfold over many years. In fact many of those who undertake that journey never recover on the mortality front. Even though all things change forever. But don’t take my word for it. Read, explore and come to know the teachings of the great Mystics. For there are no quick step navigation programmes when it comes to something so profound and timeless as this. For the dark night is a process which is beyond mortal understandings albeit it has been distilled by great Mystics like St John of the Cross et al,. And the key stages of that soul process are thus. The Active Night of the Senses (Book I, Ascent of Mount Carmel), The Passive Night of the Senses (Book I, Dark Night of the Soul), The Active Night of the Spirit (Books II and III, Ascent of Mount Carmel), The Passive Night of the Spirit (Book II, Dark Night of the Soul). So if you’re blessed to meet another soul that has truly undertaken such a journey. You will encounter; depth, humility and a knowing that simply can’t be bought or acquired through books et al. For it must be earned upon the anvils of intense suffering. As such no knowing soul would charge you or offer you cliches and idiotic quick fix programmes during your own torrid times of deep soul healing. For such a knowing soul knows that this is a journey of soul that all souls will one day make. Yet the preparation for this may take several lifetimes before the readiness aligns with the necessary reserves of courage and patience that are required to complete said journey. Indeed a space in which the no-thingness of God dances with the souls innate spiritual despair, which is the dance of unconditional love. Now and all that being said. As you explore this work of divine artistry you will either read words or read energy depending upon where you are on your journey. But either way your view of the dark night of the senses and spirit will change forever. And rightly so, for there is far to much nonsense out there in the public domain that defiles this process and that serves not ones soul. So be mindful and look always for illumination on this journey and come to know the difference between the wise one, the fool and the one filled with knowledge. For its important, yes important. Not only for your soul and journey. But for all the souls that you will later guide back into their own glory. For that is the light and the way of the light which is the love of truth. Therein; know as you oscillate between the dark and light within. Indeed that place where all hope is lost and the light has been seemingly extinguished. Call not out to God with all your bile and anger citing the one as the master of all that despairs you. Simply replace the word “god with ego” and call out for help from the divine for help in healing your false self aka ego. Whilst directing all your focus towards the love of loves which is your eternal loving soul. For that is the true journey of complete liberation. Indeed the portal and process which brings forth the true and pure illumination of God. Still and again I say to you dear soul, turn away from the one who offers quick step approaches to facilitate the death of the ego, for that too is an ego trip of insidious misinformation. Trust first and foremost in the love of God alone. Whilst granting your soul the unhindered grace to eloquently and knowingly guide you home. For the sun may rise and set for many decades as you work through this purgatory process all alone save for God, but know that; “And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.” Peter 5:10 KJB. For; “It is not the tyranny of the ego which is to be removed most of all although that is a necessary part of the Great Work. Nor is it that the ego must be uprooted and killed forever although its old self must surrender to the new person it has to become. No, let it live and attend to its daily work but only as a purified being, an ennobled character or quietened mind, an enlightened man. In short, a new ego representing what is best in the human creature. He will still be an “I” but one that is in harmony with the Overself a descriptive name that ought to be kept and not discarded. So do not in your writings attack the ego as so many do, but lift it up to the highest possibility. The teachers increase daily and ask others to follow them. The teachings multiply and the books about them too. They are not your concern. Let them do their needed work. But you are to enter a new and different rhythm and tell such as will listen that they need not be forlorn, lost, or without hope because they find none to appeal to their heart or mind. They are asked only to follow the God within themselves, for “The Kingdom of Heaven is within you.” So give this message while giving all proper respect and honour to the teachers of today and yesterday.
